Shooting

YOU MUST KNOW HOW TO SHOOT BEFORE YOU CAN PASS THE LTC RANGE PROFICIENCY TEST.  LTC CLASSES DOES NOT TEACH SHOOTING SKILLS.   

The following course of fire is required for proficiency demonstration. To successfully qualify, shooters must complete this course with a minimum score of 70% (175 points out of possible 250 points).  If any malfunctions are encountered, the shooter will work through and finish the course of fire. If rounds are not fired within the allotted time, the shots will be scored as misses. All courses of fire will be scored on a standard B-27 target. The B-27 target must be 24 inches by 45 inches and may be one of four colors; black, blue, red, or green. The target shall be scored utilizing the 5, 4, 3 scoring See target below

Scoring:

A score of 175 or higher is required to pass the proficiency test.  Using the below target for reference, shots in the X, 10, 9, and 8 ring are worth 5 points, shots in the 7 ring are worth 4 points, and shots contained in the black, but outside the 7 ring are worth 3 points; shots not contained in the black are not counted.

B-27 Target:

Firearm and Ammunition:

Must bring your own Firearm and Ammunition, if we are at a gun range you may be able to rent a Firearm and buy Ammo from them, please plan in advance and be prepared the day of class,   feel free to contact me anytime with questions or concerns
